J. Robert Wright (1936–2022) was an Episcopal priest who taught for many years at the General Theological Seminary in New York City, becoming the St. Mark's Church-in-the-Bowery Professor of Ecclesiastical History in 1974. His books include Readings for the Daily Office from the Early Church as well as the ACCS volume Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon.
A well-known church historian and specialist in patristic studies, Wright was also a life fellow of the Royal Historical Society (London) and he served as the historiographer of the Episcopal Church. He earned a DPhil from Oxford University.
