From Ferguson to New York to Germany and South Africa, Lisa Sharon Harper has been leading trainings and helping mobilize clergy and community leaders around shared values for the common good, with a focus on racial justice. A prolific speaker, writer, and activist, Harper is the founder and president of FreedomRoad.us and the author of several books, including Evangelical Does Not Equal Republican...or Democrat, Left Right and Christ, Forgive Us, and the critically acclaimed The Very Good Gospel, which was named "2016 Book of the Year" by Englewood Review of Books.

Having served as Sojourners chief church engagement officer, Harper has written extensively on shalom and governance, immigration reform, health care reform, poverty, racial and gender justice, climate change, and transformational civic engagement. She has appeared on TVOne, FoxNews Online, NPR, and Al Jazeera America. Her writing has been featured in CNN Belief Blog, The National Civic Review, Sojourners' God's Politics blog, The Huffington Post, and Relevant Magazine. In 2015 The Huffington Post recognized her as one of "50 Powerful Women Religious Leaders to Celebrate on International Women's Day."

An Auburn Theological Seminary senior fellow, Harper earned her master's in human rights from Columbia University in New York City and is currently in the process of ordination in the Evangelical Covenant Church.
